Innovation and Good Causes

I value new ideas and new products highly. I am happy to give advice and utilise my position within the triathlon community to spread the word of those doing good things to improve the lives of others or showing a real passion for what they do.

Ripl

A recent success on fundraising site Kickstarter, Ripl offers a new take on the social side of running. The UK based company allows you to buy a piece of top kit and then share your passion and inspire others. Ripl's mission is for 2 people to be inspired to run and be active, every time 1 person buys sportswear! In a country where obesity levels are at record highs it is important more than ever to inspire others to pick up their kit and feel the joy of running. Peter and Steven share my motivation to inspire more people to find good health and enjoyment with sport in their life.

Parkrun

Now a worldwide running Saturday morning ritual for so many, Parkrun has grown to become an accessible way for so many to engage in sport. The ease of entry and the simplicity of the format has been the reason for its success. Started in 2004 in Bushy Park, London, there are now arout 362 event locations globally. Thanks must always go to the volunteers who give up their time to run the events as without you many more would surely lose the motivation to run regularly.

Olio - the food sharing revolution

I hate waste, particularly food waste. Olio is an app based food recycling style facility where people can put up any unwanted food items that could still be used by others. Often the food is free to anyone willing to come and collect it and I think it is a brilliant idea to help reduce the level of food waste. Check out http://olioex.com/ for more info.

Sundried

Ethically created clothing which is stylish, functional, innovative and frankly brilliant. Sundried promote fair pay and safe working conditions for all employees and this is something I identify with. They go further bydonating some of their profits to charitable good causes, such as water for kids. Check out these relatively new good guys to the active wear market. This is how a sportswear company should be.
